Nashville Newcomers Secondhand Sound Share Young Love Anthem “Chesapeake”
On the heels of their smash hits “Dominoes” and “Knievel”, Nashville-based alternative rock group Secondhand Sound have dropped another phenomenal track, “Chesapeake”. With a building body of sound and instrumentation, the new song creates a warm and exciting tension, inspired by the fresh feeling of romance.
Lead singer Sawyer John Estock comments on the song, “‘Chesapeake’ is about figuring out how much of yourself you should show to someone when you’re first getting to know each other. If you decide to share more than you are comfortable with, you are subject to both the beauty and pain that decision comes with. The song is about accepting and understanding that one can’t find that beauty without risk of potential hurt“.
With an uncanny resemblance to high school-turned-critically acclaimed group The Districts, Secondhand Sound bring a smart, youthful demeanour, driven by their relatable lyricism and crushing instrumentation. As Estock’s haunting vocals build with each passing verse, the band swells behind him, creating a recognizable sense of nostalgia and young love.
