Irish Songwriter Zach James Douglas Turns The Pain Of Heartbreak Into His New Single “Anyone Else” From Upcoming Debut EP

Dublin songwriter and producer Zach James Douglas has officially announced his debut EP 6×3 will be released on September 10th, and has paired the news with his latest single “Anyone Else”, featuring childhood friend and lead singer of their former band Little One.

About the song Zach says “In “Anyone Else” I consider the unexpected feeling of self shame that ensues once you have been broken up with. It is a retrospective comparison of the sentiment felt by both parties in the aftermath, with a focus on the bitterness and resentment that I had to deal with. This resentment is not, as some may presume, towards her new partner, but instead is directed towards how seamless the transition was for her. It describes my struggle to come to terms with how quickly she was capable of moving on and meeting someone new, while to this day, I still struggle to engage in a conversation with a woman without feeling an insurmountable sense of guilt, shame and sadness.”

On “Anyone Else”, Douglas creates a stark feeling of uneasiness with the distant electronic textures and moody vocal style. Interlocking voice clips act as a cement for the brick layering of intense electro-rock production and instrumentation, as he sings about the anxiety and heavy emotions that come from a breakup. Ever-changing and passionate, “Anyone Else” showcases the emerging artist’s range and alluring style.
