American Folk Artist Mcclendon Shares New Video For “What I’ve Become” From Debut Album

American indie folk artist Mcclendon released his debut self-titled album earlier this year. With a sound reminiscent of Bon Iver, Ben Howard, and Half Moon Run, the Oklahoma-raised musician packs a powerful combination of emotive vocals and striking folk instrumentation. From the release is his new music video for the powerful single “What I’ve Become”.

“I’ve woken up countless times thinking, ‘How did I get here?’,” says Mcclendon about the new single. “Just that realization of being a long way off of who you were – and who you wanted to become – when you began.”

With a repeating chorus of “Heaven knows I’ve tried”, Mcclendon brings together melancholy and radiating confidence in his vocal performance, extended further through the beautifully choreographed music video.
