Folk Artist Gina Leslie Shares Jazzy Americana Ballad “Month of Sundays”

From her forthcoming debut release No, You’re Crying, out February 11th, Americana artist Gina Leslie has shared her genre-fused ballad “Month of Sundays”.

With a subtle twang hidden within her velvety vocals, Leslie pays tribute to the blues of country music with the smokey lounge ballad. Providing a more universal appeal with a classic guitar contrasted against a traditional slide, the song provides a comforting warmth a la Willie Nelson, while the jazz elements of Norah Jones and Melody Gardot take centre stage.

About the single, she shares: “[It’s] centered around the feeling of two becoming one, and the fallout that follows: the comfort of seeing a friend, only to have them ask about the person you’re trying to forget, the staying home alone to hide the sadness, the attempt to “drink, dance, and distract our way through the blues.”
