Bedroom Producer summer_syndrome Share Simmering New Single “sentimenthol (24)”
After a text conversation with a friend inspired some introspection, bedroom producer summer_syndrome began writing his new single “sentimenthol (24)” around the message “twelve-year-old habits die hard when you’re twenty four”.
The result lead to dreamy guitars, hazy synthesizers and vulnerable vocals, as summer_syndrome laments about the struggle to find a similar bravery while being offline.
“It took a lot of growing pains to break out of my hide-behind-my-screen habits”, he begins. “I remembered running into an old crush at a bar, and freezing up in person only to try to play it off the next day once our communication was digital. it turns out that telling someone how you feel is hard, but pretending you’re in touch with them because they’re on your screen every few days is easy. It feels silly now, a few years later, but this song was me trying to work through the frustration / shame / annoyance-with-myself at the time“.
“sentimenthol (24)” is one of 14 tracks from his upcoming debut project, that will be out later this year.
