Femme-Queer Fronted Alt-Rock Act Queen Cult Share New Single “Calm” From Upcoming Debut EP

Macclesfield, Cheshire-based four piece Queen Cult have shared their new single “Calm” from their upcoming debut EP Woman That I Know, out on January 28th. The explosive new cut is an anthemic and powerful message that balances introspection and social commentary with an aggressive yet poignant intensity.

Continuing to smash the patriarchy and push self appreciation, frontwoman Maisie Johnson says about the new single, “This record resonates similar themes surrounding the patriarchy but focusing on the women who conform to these ideas. We wanted to know why excuses are always made, why they give in and let go. This is our reminder, you have your own voice. You have your own rights. Don’t let someone shine brighter when you are the sun. Pick you.” Her message shines true with her dynamite vocal performance, brushed against a wall of guitars and groovy percussion.
