Brooklyn DIY Act LAPÊCHE Head To The Bowling Alley For New Music Video For “Bottom Feeder – V1”
Brooklyn-based DIY indie outfit LAPÊCHE have shared their latest single and video “Bottom Feeder – V1”.
The band, composed of singer and guitarist Krista Diem, her husband and bassist David Diem (12 Hour Turn), guitarist Drew DeMaio (Floor, Strikeforce Diablo) and Richard Salino (drums), fuse together searing alt-rock melodies and ’90s shoegaze with touches of folk on their latest effort. Encapsulating the pent up frustration of dealing with a dysfunctional family dynamic, the song teeters between the calm before the storm, and a wall of sound
About the single, Diem shares:
“‘Bottom Feeder – V1,’ addresses resentment, addiction, and the figurative sleep of a dysfunctional family. It’s also about the result of not getting out of your own way and the self-destruction that can result from being unable to see outside of yourself.”
Sharing musical similarities to the likes of Joy Formidable and Airborne Toxic Event, the song’s gradual progression into charged guitar riffs and anthemic sing-alongs eventually worms itself into your memory.
