Within mere seconds of their inaugural single, the Atlanta musicians who make up Improvement Movement want you to know: “you are about to permanently alter the course of your natural life”.
The “special amalgamation” of artists who bring with them credits on records by Washed Out and Father John Misty provide a head-scratching cluster of sounds and rhythms in the 120 second ride of “Strange Secrets Worth Knowing”. The single is poetic, urgent, and unsettling with damning lyrics of a scorched Earth destined to leave the smallest traces (“political liars, professional hires/they kill and they take what they can/internet wires and smoke from the fires/the only things left in the end).
