Indie Pop Artist Lorelei Marcell Reflects On A Former Lover On New Single “Need Me”
Los Angeles-based indie pop singer-songwriter Lorelei Marcell is set to release a string of new singles to lead up to her upcoming EP, and to kick things off, she has unveiled her anthemic post-love hit “Need Me”.
Written as a way to confront the feelings that arose when she finally grasped the toxicity of a past breakup, “Need Me” balances emotional lyricism with strong-willed pop as he reflects on a past romance with new eyes. “I was the most vulnerable yet accommodating version of myself, something I’ll never regret”, Marcell shares. “It’s a valuable lesson I learned about myself in the most heart wrenching moments.” With a diary-like poise, Lorelei recounts the highs and lows and deconstructs the reasons for her attachment, and the blindness to it all.
