Award-Winning Singer-Songwriter Tim Baker Shares First New Music In Over Three Years With “Lucky Few”
Since embarking on his solo journey with his award-winning debut solo album Forever Overhead back in 2019, former Hey Rosetta! band leader Tim Baker has returned with his first single in three years with “Lucky Few”.
Conjured up during the time of strict social isolation, “Lucky Few” dives into the pain of missing people and the open world, and its universal impact. The video, co-directed by Tim and Newfoundland cinematographer Jamie Miller is a slow building performance drama taking place through one shot, in one room, and utilizing loosely knitted worn pieces to invite fans and friends to join together again.
“This is a song that grew directly from these years of social isolation. It’s about missing people, and missing the power of connection, shared emotion and music,” says Tim. “The rhythm section and I performed it live off the floor (the second floor of the Fogo Island Inn to be exact – an incredible piano they have there, among a lot of other incredibles), and I later added violins and a little choir of friends at home.”
Tim’s unforgettable rugged vocals lead the folk-gospel ballad forward, as it grows into a commanding finale with a few familiar faces.
