Montreal Multi-Instrumentalist ALIAS Shares High Energy Single “Together”

ALIAS – the moniker of Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist Emmanuel Alias – has shared a punchy, high energy new single, “Together.” His first release of 2022, the track follows last year’s debut EP, It’s Not Funny So Stop Smilin’.

Punctuated by a grungy guitar rift and increased instrumental tension as it progresses, the psycho-rock track highlights ALIAS’s powerful voice, at first soft in the verses and growing in intensity throughout the chorus.

ALIAS shares that “…”Together” centers around the fictional character of Jozef. Colourful, eclectic, inhabited by a sweet madness, he resides in a home that is not his, with other occupants just as offbeat as him. Jozef’s thoughts are sometimes turbulent, even violent, as the multiple personalities within him collide. Is he mad, or is he a dreamer? “Together” is only a glimpse into the world as perceived by this character, leaving just enough space for the listener to fill in the gaps himself.”

The accompanying music video brings Jozef’s character to life, showing viewers different personalities and tendencies, and adding another dimension to the story found within the lyrics. As the different personalities come and go, the lyrics ‘Feels like we don’t fit together” become more and more visually apparent as the scenes unfold, the song and video complementing each other perfectly, even as they explore feelings of being disjointed and ill matched.
