UK Garage Punks PLAY DEAD Share New Single “Barbershop”
Comprised of best friends Joe Blair (vocals, guitar), Ollie Clarke (bass, backing vocals) and Elias Brewin (drums, percussion), UK garage punk act PLAY DEAD making waves with their cheeky, upbeat indie rock style. On their new single “Barbershop”, the London-based trio deal with an unsuspecting problem with a fresh haircut. Told by frontman Joe Blair, “Barbershop” is about his repeated misfortune at getting shocking haircuts and never having the courage to front up to his barber about it – “He wore a hat once for two straight months“, taunts bassist Ollie Clarke.
The frantic and angsty pace of the track mixes effortlessly with their DIY, garage rock sound, making for a catchy and refreshingly down-to-earth track.
