Alt-Pop Artist BAD HEATHER Drops A Hint With New Single “Stay In LA”
After having spent his late teens as the tour drummer for Moths To A Flame, Porter Chapman has stepped into his own path as a solo artist, performing as BAD HEATHER. With his new EP Sad Heather on the way, the Utah native has shared its lead single “Stay In LA”.
With its cut-throat attitude, the new single is an anthemic track written about the eye-rolling characteristics of certain people.
“Stay in LA” is about when shitty people try to crawl back into your life. I wrote the track after I had gotten a text message from someone I had moved on from. This person had made the goal of living in LA their whole personality, so I just assumed they had moved there. I wished they would’ve stayed there instead of trying to reinsert themself into my life. This song is a mix of everything I love about Hardcore Punk and Pop, but I also took inspiration on a shredded distorted sound from bands like Sleigh Bells and Crystal Castles. It’s also hard as fuck”.
His hardcore influences bleed through the modern pop punk hit as he lets his vocals rip through on each chorus with a sarcastic and nonchalant demeanour.
