Pop Punk Producer Steven R. Hansen Wants To “Keep On” With New Single
Chicago-based producer/songwriter Steven R. Hansen and Jon del Prado (Like Wilde, The Fight Night, Dear Chicago) have teamed up for their anthemic new single “Keep On”. Holding onto the ’00s pop-punk songwriting sensibilities and energy, the pair reflect on their current place in the music industry.
“This song is about a couple guys in their 30s realizing that finally, after grinding for years, acquiring all the gear, getting great at their instruments, writing recording gigging they can put out pro music”, Steven begins. “But is the brutally competitive music industry worth quitting the comfy corporate jobs and risking it all for a fading dream? “
With its roots firmly planted in the original days of pop-punk, “Keep On” brings a refreshing and new sound to the longtime and loyal fans of the genre who fear they may be hitting the “classic rock” categorization. Regardless, Hansen and del Prado keep things youthful, energetic, and catchy on their new release.
