Indie Pop Artist Yoyo Nagase Celebrates His Asian Heritage On Laidback New Single “i don’t care”

Seattle-based indie pop artist Yoyo Nagase made the jump into the music world during quarantine, using songwriting as a creative outlet during the lockdowns. Two years later, he has grown his discography with feel-good tunes, including his latest offering “i don’t care”.

Centered around his Asian heritage, Nagase brings along three more Asian artists to show support for underrepresented voices in pop on “i don’t care”. a kind named rufus, pretty havoc, and Pluto Koi come together alongside Nagase for the new single, as they sing about their experience growing up as Asian-American.

With each artist taking a turn on a verse, the dreamy West Coast pop track highlights each contributor’s charming vocals. Warm and optimistic, “i don’t care” has an outwardly appeal with its upbeat instrumenation, with its relatability shining through the lyrics.
