Fast-Rising Punk Group Anxious Share New Single “Sunsign”

Only months after dropping their debut album Little Green House, punk four piece Anxious have shared standalone single “Sunsign.” The Connecticut based band have been busy touring in support of Little Green House since the album’s release in January 2022, almost non-stop, which has only resulted in a motivation to keep going, leading to this latest release.

“Sunsign” is filled with warm harmonies and lilting melodies from start to finish, Recorded and produced by Mike Sapone (Taking Back Sunday, The Front Bottoms, Oso Oso), the track leans into the band’s more pop elements, though maintains the heart and energy that listeners have come to expect from them.

Lyrically, “Sunsign” grapples with feeling inadequate next to your romantic partner and wishing to be more than you are, all while still remaining true to yourself. It’s about the wish to close the gap between distances both real and metaphorical. The heavier, more emotional subject matter doesn’t weigh down the song, however – it’s overall an easy listen, catchy in all the right ways that will have you humming snippets long after the last note fades out.

Anxious is made up of vocalist Grady Allen, guitarist/vocalist Dante Melucci, bassist Sam Allen, and drummer Jonny Camner. They’re continuing to tour, with a number of live dates over the next two months.
