Toronto R&B Artist Jesse Maxwell Shares Cinematic New Music Video For “6” From Latest ‘LP2’
Toronto-based alt-R&B artist/producer Jesse Maxwell released his sophomore album LP2 in October. Boasting some of his strongest work to date, the record included his striking focus single “6”, and Maxwell has shared its new visual.
Directed by up-and-coming filmmakers Eric Kingsbury and Adrian Altobelli, the music video captures the song’s cinematic and darkened energy, using stunning imagery to evoke chaos and anger. “I’m so proud of this video. I feel it’s one of the most bold, eerie, and artistic works we’ve ever created,” says Jesse. “For me, this video symbolizes the relationship someone faces with their inner anger. Being allured by the fire of powerful emotions and simultaneously the isolating place that can keep you in.”
Maxwell’s croon burns slowly over the dense, bass-forward track. Pulling influences from the likes of Sam Smith, Billie Eilish, and Khalid, the song is a moody pop offering that helps to showcase the emerging artist’s progression upwards.
