INTRODUCING: Brooklyn Singer-Songwriter Elora Turns Her Mistakes Into Glossy Indie Pop Hit “Gullible”
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Elora has made shared her debut single “Gullible”. Co-produced by her partner Theo Walentiny, the new single came to be during during the time spent in close quarters during lockdown in NYC. Making the most of their lack of privacy and abundance of time, the two spent their days writing music together. “Gullible” is their first public release, and the self-aware anthem is a wonderful introduction.
Putting her mistakes front and center, “Gullible” is about getting scammed over the phone. “The way I can best learn from a situation is to write about it and laugh at myself,” says Elora. “This is most candid in the line “I’m sorry and a broken promise, my dumbass thought that he was honest.”
Combining a cluster of influences, including Sylvan Esso, Tame Impala, Big Thief, and Julia Jacklin, Elora has an inviting vibrancy to her vocal style, giving a soft glow to the psych-pop instrumentation.
