Baltimore Hip-Hop Artist maderanged Drops Slick New Single “boogeyman”
Baltimore-based hip-hop artist maderanged is continuing to tease his upcoming EP Bleak, set for release in mid-2023, with exciting, lyrically-driven tracks. Despite that his latest offering “boogeyman” won’t be included in the collection, its sequel, aptly titled “boogeyman tu” will make an appearance. For now, maderanged is giving fans a bit of a backstory with the powerful and punchy ode to the classic underground rap world bridges the soulful samples of east coast hip-hop with Kendrick Lamar’s signature growling style.
“The song really came together by itself,” says maderanged. “The recording session, and really the whole week, was originally scheduled for a song that was supposed to be on my upcoming EP. When we played this back at the end of the week though, I just knew we had to drop it as a precursor to the EP and what it would sound like.”
Interwoven snippets from the film ‘Training Day’ add to the retro style of the track, as maderanged turns fast-firing wordplay into rhythmic flow and confidence-filled quips.
