Australian Art-Pop Trio Peak Park Share Hypnotic New Single “Need Your Love”

Melbourne-based indie trio Peak Park are closing off the year with their lush new single “Need Your Love”. The fourth of 2022, the new track bridges punchy synthesizers with cinematic art-rock for a colossal-sized offering that explores the wave of emotions that come with obsession and love.

Inspired by a long list of artists, including Radiohead, Foals, James Blake, and alt-j, the indietronica track playfully travels through different arrangements to capture the ups and downs of expression.

“It is all about the darker side of pursuing something you love, underscored by a relentless, heavy synth arp”, the band share. “There’s a dichotomy of conflicting emotional states being painfully reflected; the fragile, pleading side (the need), and the demanding, obsessive side (the want). It’s about the sacrifices you make in the pursuit of a feeling; the feeling of truly losing yourself in something, the feeling of pure ecstasy, in which time stands still, and everything makes sense“.

Brimming with tension, texture, and shape, “Need Your Love” is a maximalist production that feels both controlled and chaotic.
