Post-Hardcore Act Systems & Stories Share New Single “Sylvia”
Salt Lake City-based metalcore act Systems & Stories have shared their new single “Sylvia”, lifted from the upcoming EP The In Name Only. Each song from the upcoming collection will revolve around specific people and places from history. “Sylvia” was inspired by the life and untimely death of poet & novelist Sylvia Plath.
Lead by Justin Trombetti, the band share about the song, “Sonically, its moody contrast between the beautiful and the visceral mirror the phases of her life and her writing. Lyrically, it explore her ongoing struggle with mental health until her eventual suicide“.
Combining elements of metalcore, hard rock, emo, and post-hardcore, “Sylvia” is a passionate and vocal-heavy release, giving Trombetti room to share his anthemic and powerful voice.
Alongside the thundering single, the band have also shared its new music video directed by Austin Heath of Charlatan.
