Swiss Electro-Rock Group Alois Tease Upcoming Album ‘Night Vision’ With Groovy Lead Single “Checkmate”

Zurich, Switzerland-based electro-pop group Alois are set to release their third full-length Night Vision this year. Leading the way is the groovy and dreamy hit “Checkmate”.

Coordinating with the likes of Hot Chip, Islands, and Metronomy with their guitar-forward dance music, Alois turn a somewhat pessimistic perspective into an irresistible dream-pop release. About the song, they share, “Our world today works like this: You want to be one move ahead of everyone else. And checkmate the other person before the other person checkmates you. But why do we lose ourselves in petty power games when we could listen to the youthful, playful loops of Alois and all be dancing around each other?”

Built on a memorable synth line and hypnotic drum groove, “Checkmate” helps make the worry of the world dissipate as they guide listeners into a dreamy and psychedelic dance trance.
