Australian Hip-Hop Artists OX4ORD & VOLDY Share New Collab “Say Nothin'”

Australian hip-hop newcomer OX4ORD and emerging artist VOLDY have shared their new single “Say Nothin'”. The Australian pair wrote track to reflect on their complicated relationship with the music industry as they switch between their love for music and frustration about the consumer-centric mindset of the industry. As well, the duo alternate between singing and rapping, showcasing their flexibility as artists.

“This was one of those records that I’d kept in the vault for a while”, OX4ORD says. “It always felt like it was missing a piece that I just couldn’t find; VOLDY was that (missing piece). I think sonically, we match really well, and we’re both deep thinkers. It’s a window into our minds, and our relationship with music – it never feels like work with VOLDY, and I think that’s why the record is so fun, and so deep at the same time.”

Elaborating further, VOLDY adds, “I wanted it to express my lyrics in a literal, and figurative way. The hook plays on wanting to get away from all the noise to focus on my love (the music), while my verse dives into the imbalanced industry that emphasises the wrong facets of art. In a way, ‘SAY NOTHIN’ represents the taking back of my power over my craft. That combined with the opportunity to collaborate with OX is an honour! We’ve been working closely together for years, and to not only have OX on a verse, but YAAK behind production, makes this even more special – because we really have both unlocked a new level of our artistry making this record.”
