Go for Gold – At Home

Mental health continues to be a heavy topic in the music industry. For many industry professionals, self-care and well-being are put at the wayside in exchange for ambitions and draining pursuits of dreams. Punk and pop-punk has been a longstanding genre that provides a loud, cathartic release of emotion and energy, and that tradition continues among younger bands.

Arkansas pop-punk outfit Go for Gold are one of those up-and-coming bands that are continuing the loud, danceable genre of pop-punk, and are releasing their Color Me EP on May 15th. From the collection is their latest single “At Home”, a classic pop-punk tune circa-2005, with hints of Four Year Strong, Taking Back Sunday, and All Time Low.

With a reoccurring chorus of “I don’t feel at home in my head anymore”, the new single explores the ongoing struggle of staying strong. The band explains, “The song is about struggling with mental health and searching for a way out of that downward spiral. It is an admittance of having a problem and the beginning of a search for a solution.”

Listen to the anthemic, power-pop tune below, and stay tuned for more music from the band.
