Jayde – Electricity
There is something tranquil and surreal about the sound that comes out of an old, dusty upright piano. The keys and subsequent vibrations hold the weight of the years and past performances within the ivory, and are able to inspire and nurture music yet to come.
Indie pop singer-songwriter Jayde developed her song “Electricity” with the help of an old piano. Working with her producer in Montreal, her new piano pop-ballad holds with it the echoing delicateness of an aged keyboard.
Written about a relationship finding its end, “Electricity” has the young rising star sounding well beyond her years, as the song’s lush, pop melody shares her emotions:
At the time, I was going through a phase in my relationship that I wasn’t entirely conscious of. My subconscious took over my lyric writing and the words poured out of me. ‘Electricity‘ was the conduit to writing about my internalized emotions, which I could feel the weight of. I keep things inside because I think as soon as you say how you’re feeling out loud it becomes real. When I started writing this song, I realized the gravity of my inner feelings. Reading my lyrics back forced me to make positive changes in my life“.
Her acceptance and realization has given fans something to enjoy. Watch the moody music video below, and stay tuned for more music from the up-and-coming musician.
