Shred Kelly Pays Tribute To His Father In New Video For “Take Me Home”

From the snowy town of Fernie, British Columbia, alternative folk rock group Shred Kelly released their fifth album Like A Rising Sun back in 2020 and have finally shared their new music video for the heartwarming track “Take Me Home”.

After losing his father just a month after the birth of his first child back in 2019, lead singer Tim Newton turned the love and reflection into a spirited song as a tribute to his father’s passing and the love he had for his family. While the track is emotional and touching, Shred Kelly make sure to not let up their spirited and energizing style of folk rock.

Adding to the sincerity of “Take Me Home”, the new music video captures Tim’s appreciation for his father as he builds a life from the front porch while wearing his father’s fur boots, as he closes the journey with a chorus of “I’ll be gone tomorrow, I’ll see you in the next life”.

Watch the music video below, and you can catch Shred Kelly “on tour” for the next month. They’ve partnered with 8 Canadian music festivals from across the country (dates below) and will be donating 25% of proceeds to Protect Our Winters Canada (tickets here).

  1. It’s a beautiful video. Congratulations. It touched my heart a lot and reminded me of my father who also died, but I remember him with joy because the memories are very good.
