Nashville Post-Hardcore Act Free Throw Show Some Love For Local Venues In New Video “Cloud Sick”
Nashville post-hardcore-meets-pop-punk act Free Throw have announced their new album Piecing It Together will be out June 25th via Triple Crown Records. The news comes alongside the treasure hunt music video for “Cloud Sick”, as the band are taken on a cat and mouse chase across Nashville in their van.
While the music video acts as a love letter to their hometown, its timing was also fairly relevant with major news in the city. Just as the band were approving the final edit of the music video, it was announced that one of the locations featured (Exit/In) is in danger of being lost to developers with aims of turning the space into a high end luxury hotel. Free Throw are encouraging fans to donate to the “Preserve Exit/In!” campaign on GoFundMe so that the venue can continue to host shows and serve its vital role in Nashville’s under-appreciated punk and indie rock scene.
Meanwhile, the song itself focuses on a more micro level of relationships; frontman Cory Castro shares, “‘Cloud Sick’ is a song about trying to make sure the person you are with is happy. Sometimes situations make the strain of a relationship even harder. The song really touches on personal insecurities and worries that your significant other may give up on the relationship“.
