Brighton Indie Pop Songwriter Matilda Cole Channels Her Parents’ Separation For Heartfelt Single “Camden”

From her upcoming EP, Brighton-based indie pop newcomer Matilda Cole has shared her personal and stunning new single “Camden”. Showcasing the artist’s honey-coated vocals and dreamy songwriting style, the new single brings out elements of Lorde, Phoebe Bridgers, and Maisie Peters as she sings candidly about a difficult year of her life. Her bittersweet storytelling is at the forefront of the song’s helm, as she walks listeners through the heartbreaking year.

About the single, she shares, “Camden is really just a song about my parents splitting up. a lot changed for me in a year, and watching their relationship deteriorate followed by selling the family home was harder for me to handle than i thought it would be. Camden really sets the tone for the EP, which is a collection of songs about the reality of growing up.”
