Indie Pop Act The Bloom Share New Single “Now You’re Gone”
After returning home to Australia following the 2020 lockdown in the UK, indie pop act The Bloom eventually hit the studio to record some new music. Their latest single “Now You’re Gone” is the first taste from the recording sessions, and brings out the group’s melodic and lush songwriting style. With an uplifting groove and ear-worm synth groove, “Now You’re Gone” delves into the quick, unexpected changes that can happen in a relationship, especially in the digital age.
Lead singer Luke Kordyl had a first-hand experience when a relationship suddenly fizzled out. “I basically got ghosted but someone I really liked. I thought the feeling was mutual but in hindsight it wasn’t meant to be. I didn’t want come come on too strong so l thought I’d write a tune to let her know how i felt but that the decision was (and always should be) hers. It’s tricky out there for all of us!
Fortunately, the outcome is an instant indie pop hit and acts as a gentle reminder that there are always better things to come.
