Americana Singer-Songwriter Leeroy Stagger Shares Uplifting New Video For “More Love Than Money”

With his new album Dystopian Weekends arriving on October 15th, singer-songwriter Leeroy Stagger has shared his third single from the release “More Love Than Money”. The rootsy, feel-good Americana single comes alongside a sunshine-filled music video, professing positivity, confidence, and happiness, lead by Leeroy’s rustic vocal charm.

“‘More Love Than Money’ is about making major life decisions based on happiness and intuition rather than fear,” says Leeroy. “There are plenty of voices that can talk you out of a dream, but if you follow the ones that guide your heart, you realize that anything is possible – even if it means giving something up to start fresh, or at the bottom of something different. It’s about new beginnings and running off of the love of the people that support you.”

Recorded at Afterlife Studios in Vancouver at the beginning of the global pandemic, Leeroy Stagger’s 12th full-length album, Dystopian Weekends, shines a light of hope on the world while delving into topics like environmental degradation, greedy land developers, Christmas songs about junkies and alcoholics, race wars in America, break-ups, and honouring dead friends. Despite its dense subject matter, Leeroy and his band bring out the beauty in hardship.

“I’m extremely proud of the last couple of records I’ve made,” adds Leeroy. “I tried very hard to reach as many people as possible with the production of those records, whereas this record I made for myself. Instead of referencing what was on the radio at the time, I went back to my favourite Bob Dylan records and records like 421 Ocean Blvd and The Silver Tongued Devil and I to plant some production seeds. I definitely followed some more traditional guideposts. I wanted the songs to speak for themselves.”
