PREMIERE: Jackson Dyer Holds Onto Summer For Just A Moment Longer With Shimmery New Single “Losing Light”

Australian-born, Berlin-based singe-songwriter Jackson Dyer has returned with his latest single “Losing Light”. With autumn officially in season, the soulful new effort is a perfectly timed release as the sun begins to disappear earlier each day. Written about memorable afternoons with friends, the song is a upbeat, joyful tune about asking for an extension on a great time.

“’Losing Light’ is a song that I wrote about that sweet spot on those special afternoons with friends when everything seems to fit perfectly together, those special moments that you don’t want to end”, Dyer shares. “However, time passes and then the sky starts to lose some of its colour, and I imagined this song to be focused around trying to extend that sweet spot for as long as possible, chasing the sun and demanding a few more minutes.”

Dyer’s laidback songwriting style was combined with a more collaborative approaching this time around, bringing in fellow Berlin-based musician Florian Höfer and drummer Pascal Karier to round-out the instrumentation. Influenced by nature, soul, folk, and indie, “Losing Light” captures the serenity of friendship and the joy of making memories.

Listen below, and stay tuned for a new EP from Dyer later this year.
