Toronto Singer-Songwriter Conor Gains Shares Anthemic Southern Rock Track “Lightning”

Toronto-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Conor Gains has shared his latest single “Lightning”. Channeling the triumphant power of southern rock and especially soul, Gains lets his rustic vocals soar over a electrifying arrangement, finding a style reminiscent to the likes of Nathaniel Rateliff and Rag’ N’ Bone Man. “It is easy to let love drive you crazy but it can also bring you an intense power,” explains Gains. “Lightning” is about that never ending wild goose chase of trying to get on the same page, knowing that when it works it really works and when it doesn’t, well, you’re left in the dirt.”

A gospel-tinged organ and foot-stomping rhythm make for a compelling and soul-touching combination, as Gains takes full command of the song with his underrated star power.
