Indie Pop Artist Landon Conrath Reflects On A Difficult Relationship With Glossy New Single “Last Week”
Minneapolis-based indie artist Landon Conrath made the shift from drummer to songwriter & producer. With a viral hit in his pocket, he released his debut EP Dazed & Confused in 2021, and is now looking to the next chapter with his latest single “Last Week”.
With the future in mind, Conrath looks back to an unhealthy relationship with a former collaborator on the new single.
He explains,“Last Week is about a person in my life who made me feel like I was constantly under their feet. We worked super closely together but I always felt like my ideas weren’t good enough and that I should just quit music in general. Whether it was truly a bad situation or if I just put those ideals on myself, this song illustrates with the struggles of self worth.”
Despite the weight of the song’s origins, “Last Week” boasts a bright and upbeat demeanour, as his youthful and vibrant vocal style mixes with earworm melodies and a pinch of optimism.
