Skegss – Stranger Days

Australian indie rockers Skegss dropped two new singles this week: “December” and “Stranger Days”, the latter becoming a quick personal favourite. Its jovial and optimistic spirit possess the same vibrancy to a unforgettable memory with friends, and the accompanying music video plays on the theme of supporting your friends with its fun and personality filled story.

Jasmyn – Crystal Ball

Since officially embarking on her solo career back in November, ex-Weaves lead singer Jasmyn has shared her latest single “Crystal Ball”. Highlighting her unique and signature vocal style, the song fuses together experimental flourishes with alternative rock and bright synth-pop undertones for a wonderful prog-pop hit.

Claudia Bouvette – Douchebag

With her debut album The Paradise Club due on May 20th, Montreal-based indie pop artist Claudia Bouvette has shared her latest single and video “Douchebag”. A dreamy and glossy effort, the song is a confidence-boosting power-pop song about re-discovering one’s self worth following a challenging break-up.

Maddie Jay – Gutterball

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Maddie Jay has spent a good chunk of her music career as the bassist for the likes of Lorde and Remi Wolf. Setting the stage for a solo career on her own accord, the emerging indie artist has shared her new single “Gutterball”. With its groovy and funky bass line (no surprise), the song has a wonderfully youthful, yet retro feel that bridges together generations of pop music into a bedroom production style hit.

Jordan Klassen – Niko

With his new album Glossolalia out on April 8th, Vancouver’s Jordan Klassen has returned with another new single “Niko”. His dreamy, patient vocals meet in the middle with charming instrumentation, complete with a string section. His indie folk sound seems to always posses this irresistible and meditative charm, courtesy of his articulate and buttery delivery.
