Virginia Alternative Act Longsleeves Share New Music Video “Afghan”
Hailing from Norfolk, Virginia, alternative rock band LONGSLEEVES released their debut EP Joyrider back in 2021, and have shared the new music video for single “Afghan”.
Influenced by equal parts grunge, hard rock, and emo, “Afghan” and its visual combines rich nostalgia with contrasting styles. The music video was a collaboration with Haunted Vault, a found footage archive, and features clips from a motorcycle chase lovingly filmed on super8 by ambition young filmmakers before being lost to time.
Paired with the themes of “Afghan,” the song and images represent a window into childhood both carefree and dangerous, and the futile attempt to escape the end of adolescence.
