Australian Post-Hardcore Band The Comfort Share New Music Video For “The Portal” From Latest LP
Australian post-hardcore group The Comfort returned first single in over two years back in May, and have since released an EP and now their latest full-length Experience Everything. Live and Die. From the 12-track collection is “The Portal”, featuring Deadlight’s Dylan Davidson, and its accompanying music video. Rich with nihilism, the emotionally-charged track is an explosive combination of clean and aggressive vocals, nodding to influences like Bring Me the Horizon and Architects.
About the song, the band share:
“It feels like a collection of thoughts, rather than a set poetic structure like some of the others songs on the record. Lyrically, it’s about trying to be humble in the face of the fact that everything is temporary and we all mean nothing in the immensity of time. On the contrary though, we all mean something right now and it feels like we are wasting our opportunity to improve humanity by letting the current world leaderships run our societies into the ground. Everyone in younger generations seem to be looking for purpose, but not knowing where to find it and I think, partly that is due to the way things have been run for the last few hundred years. There is something missing and I want to inspire people to help figure it out“.
Through the use of silhouettes, the new music video adds to the striking contrast of light and dark in the music and lyrics.
