Indie Singer-Songwriter Laura Lang Shares Stunning New Single “Love Letter” From Sophomore EP ‘Bad Luck’
Memphis-based singer-songwriter Laura Lang released her debut EP All Downhill From There as an emerging 16 year old artist. Well beyond her years, the release was a compelling and lush bedroom-folk-pop release. Returning less than a year later, the teenage talent released her sophomore EP Bad Luck, including her new focus single “Love Letter”.
The lush indie rock tune is filled to the edges with effect-laden guitar tones and swelling vocals and instrumentation, finding similar ground to the likes of Julian Baker and Phoebe Bridgers.
After being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder at 16, Lang finds clarity and focus with her music. “My BPD gives me the ability to zoom out and zoom in on myself and my life really well and, though my life would be easier without it, I do see it as a gift,” says Lang. While the EP captures her experience with mental illness, “Love Letter” is a sweeping and breath of fresh air with its glowing warmth and bittersweet emotions.
