Norweigan Electro-Pop Artist Ponette Shares Glitchy Hit “Beats Me Up With” Featuring Coucheron
Norwegian indie pop artist Ponette is set to release her new album this year. Her first release since her debut album Nude released back in 2020, the Ponette returns with the electro-pop lead single “Beats Me Up”, a collaboration with hit-making producer Coucheron.
Pushing the boundaries of indie pop into more experimental and glitch-pop territory, the dynamic and lush new single blends Ponette’s angelic vocals with choppy and dense production. In line with the likes of Purity Ring, Flume, and Tove Lo, the new single is a bright and well-rounded listening experience.
Speaking of the new single, Ponette said: “Beats Me Up (ft. Coucheron) was created during a massive wave of feelings. Totally overwhelming. I just had to find a way to communicate all of the raw emotions that had been building up in my body for a while, and I want the song to feel like that when you listen to it as well. I hope people can relate, and that I’m not totally crazy.”
Her feelings are transposed effortlessly into the song, as the emotions come through with the song’s melodic and melancholic composition.
