Indie Folk Singer-Songwriter Lucy Clearwater Shares Falls For The Wrong Person On New Single “Casual”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Lucy Clearwater has shared her new single “Casual”. Lead by her stunning vocals, the song delves into the misdirected feelings that arose during a “situationship”.
Combining her origins as a classical violinist with her shimmering folk style, the delicate ballad showcases her strength as a songwriter and vocalist.
Despite its sincere emotional impact, the song also comes with a fun anecdote. “Anderson Paak heard me play it at a club in Hollywood”, Lucy shares. “He came up to me afterwards and said ‘that sad-ass song was all about a booty-call, wasn’t it? Damn, your songwriting is savage’. Living in LA is funny. Maybe thats why I keep finding myself ‘caught between casual and emotional’.”
