Granite Hands – Smoke Screens ft. Owane (Music Video)

San Antonio, Texas based act Granite Hands have been keeping in the shadows for awhile now, announcing themselves back in 2015. But the dynamic duo of Sorush Ranjbar (guitar/bass) and Cesar De Los Santos (drums) are gradually making their way upwards in the prog-rock world with their captivating and fast-moving sound.

Influenced by jazz, hardcore, math rock, and a hint of funk, the combination of guitar and drums manages to go a long way and remain unpredictable. On their lead single “Smoke Screens”, you can get a taste of the melody-fuelled technique of the band. Things start off slow, and featuring guitarist Owane on the opening solo, the song eases you in with a catchy rock hook, before Ranjbar takes over with a finger-slinging guitar playing backed by De Los Santos’ articulate percussion.

Plus, the music video is a psychedelic trip just to add to the sensational track. I hope you like skimpy bathing suits and wolves.

Head to their bandcamp to hear more music and pre-order their upcoming Void EP out January 30th.
