NYC Singer-Songwriter Nisa Releases Her New EP ‘Time To Plant Tears’ Alongside Latest Focus Track “Unthinkable”
NYC-based singer-songwriter Nisa has released her sophomore EP Time To Plant Tears earlier this month. The six-track collection is rich with her angelic vocals and tantalizing melancholy. In describing the mood of the EP, Nisa has said that the songs are centred around “confrontation and focus; weathering internal and external changes; desire, and emotional rebirth.”
In line with musicians Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Soccer Mommy, Nisa combines her pensive and deliberate lyricism with a solo electric guitar, especially on previous singles “St. James”, “Cold”, and “Savior”. Igniting a fire for the album’s closing track, “Unthinkable” is a gradual crescendo of emotion and sound, as she laments about growing apart from someone close to you. Carrying a quiet strength, it eventually opens into a full-band arrangement, unloading passion and fury into the ears of whoever is listening.
