Genre-Bending Artist Foushée Drops Dynamite New Single & Video “i’m fine”
Singer-songwriter Fousheé recently released a new track and music video for “i’m fine.” The genre-bending artist wrote the track, and the music video sees her behind the lens as director, allowing her to bring to the forefront the emotions and meaning behind the song.
About the inspiration and conception of her latest release, Fousheé shares: “During the span of time between the last project to when i’m fine was written there was a lot being suppressed. It’s highlighting the contrast of a pretty exterior with a chaotic interior. This contrast ultimately inspired the entire project.”
At first soft, with clean vocals alongside a strummed guitar, the track unexpectedly explodes with crashing drums, heavy guitar and intense vocalizations. A jolting contrast, it seems to mimic the sensation of being fine with intermittent feelings of uncertainty and questioning. The music video highlights the contrasts, with a seeming innocence throughout the softer parts of the song crashing into dark, broken images. As the video closes, an even seedier plot twist comes in, furthering the story within the song.
“i’m fine was the first song I wrote for this new project,” shares Fousheé.
The single follows this year’s earlier release “double standard” and her 2021 debut album, time machine. Watch “i’m fine” below:
